NODE USER MANAGEMENT

The node-user-management demonstrates an sample application support for a Mongo database based user system and authenticating users. It generally focuses to beginners in node.js. The application will give them a basic idea about Express framework for node with MongoDB as data storage.

This application have used express-validator, an express.js middleware for node-validator for input validations.

Features include:

• Users can be stored to Mongo DB
• Registration support
• Login support
• Users can be edited and deleted

Caution: This repository is developed in sync with Express framework for node.js.

Documentation & Installation

Prerequisites

1. Install node.js in server.
2. Install MongoDB in server.

Note: Please create a database called test in MongoDB. Also check mongo connection present in routes/users.js with your crendentials for connection.

Installation

Step 1. Clone or download the repository.

git clone git@github.com:justin-john/node-user-management.git

Step 2. Go to root of your cloned/downloaded directory and use below command in terminal to install all dependencies, which is defined in package.json file.

npm install

Step 3. Enter below command. Use this command after any change is made in files.

node app

Step 4. Go to url http://localhost:3000.
